How surreal, to come home with the love of your life from a
long separation, an event suppose to be such a moment filled with happiness, and hope for new beginnings!
Well, it didn't happen that way, Ron's graduation
was a beautiful site, the tears, the joy, the accomplishment, but his homecoming bittersweet.
All throughout OTS all Ron could talk about was coming home
to us and scrubbing on the pappies( pet babies) we even discussed it on our flight home, and mostly the subject surrounded
the pib ( scribble)
Scribble was our very first baby, we got him before we were
married ( I know kids out of wedlock) but all kidding aside, Ronnie so wanted a kitty, and he had never had one all his life.
The Pib was more than a cat to us, he was our baby, he was so sickly and so scrawny, but everyone that met the pib and
every one he gave notice to, loved him.
We came home
Sat Night from AL to find that thursday night early friday ( Ron's Grad day) that the Pib had gotten out because
a friend that was sitting for us had accidently left the back door open, he snuck out, ( mind you he has been
an indoor kitty all his life) with the exception of being afforded the opportunity to hang out in the yard near the patio
in clear view and never left alone, or out of eye shot. Hell he never ever even got on the fence to walk it.
The Pib left out to wander found himself in a very terrible
situation and was disemboweled by a pack of coyotes, all that remained was his collar, so we thought.
The next
morning (sunday)Ron and I went looking for him, we found the spot he was killed, blood staining the sidewalk, and we found
tufts of fur, along with his bowel, and a piece of flesh.
We searched the Washes just to make certain he wasn't
just hurt somewhere, but then I saw my Ronnie clutching something with tears and sobs, shaking and sobbing he handed me
the pib's tail.
Our beloved Scribble, brother to Twinkle, Hiero, and Tasha is
no more.
We will never forget the Scrib, our little buddy, best
friend, and our baby!
Scribble may God keep you, may Dad watch over you...
Until we meet again, I'll see ya later buddy, be a good boy!
